Hosen-in

The stillness:
Into the rock it pierces –
the cry of the cicada.

Hosen-in is a subtemple of Shorin-in in Ohara.

The entry fee includes a cup of matcha, a green tea and a bean cake that is offered to visitors on the veranda.   Sitting on the veranda, one can enjoy the view across the valley to the mountains seen through a bamboo grove as well as the branches of its 500-year-old Mount Fuji shaped pine tree.
