IIn recollection of the great drainage project of Lake Biwa during the Meiji Period, Biwako Sosui Kinenkan(the Lake Biwa Canal Museum of Kyoto) was created in hopes that the great achievements of our predecessors who revived Kyoto will help people in future undertakings. On display are model inclines and materials from the drainage project. Also here is Japan’s first hydroelectric plant.
