Kyoto Handicraft Center

The center offers daily craft workshops so you can actually enjoy making traditional crafts in the same way as the old masters have done for centuries.
With the likes of fan painting, incense bag making and woodblock print making, you are bound to find something among the 9 different craft experience options that gets your creative juices flowing.

The experiences run daily at 10.30 am, 2.30 pm and 4pm. While it is possible to turn up on the day, the center is a popular attraction, so it is probably best to book ahead by either email or telephone. And don’t worry about the language barriers, Kyoto Handicraft Center is one of the few such places in Japan that offers a comprehensive English language service.
